She's seven and wanted a girly little party at home with a couple of friends. She picked out the decor, the cake flavor (strawberry), the dinner menu (spaghetti, cucumbers, and lime-aid, because one of her friends likes green), and the games with much deliberation and list making. It was fun to see her enjoy the party planning so much and see how opinionated she was about everything, right down to where they would sit and which balloon should be tied at each chair.
I let the girls help make the cake, which was really fun. Eden was quite the little baker and a faithful assistant until the end.

Judging by her face, I'd say she had a good day. We love this little girl who is quickly becoming a young lady full of grace and deep thoughts and lots of sweetness.
7 things about Poppy at 7 years old:
+ She LOVES books and will listen to me read or will curl up on her own with a new chapter book for hours
+ She started soccer and piano lessons this month and is enthusiastically enjoying them both
+ She is sensitive and quick to show emotion when hurt or disappointed
+ She adores her friends and wants to be at every social activity but also likes alone time and will disappear up in her room
+ She loves art and crafts and makes endless messes around the house cutting up paper and assembling her many creations
+ Her favorite subject is history
+ She wants to be a ballerina when she grows up
