The Birthday Girl

Lucette turned one, and we had ourselves a spring par-tay. 

The invitations only went out to immediate family, but when you have a crazy crew like mine that means almost thirty people (15 kids!), so we had a happy houseful.

Bry's mom made the adorable cakes. Strawberry, chocolate, lemon, and a mini cake with lots of fluffy whipped cream for Cetty…so perfect!

She wore the same tutu that Poppy wore to her first birthday party (a gift from Jen), and I happened upon a shirt with "Je suis trés jolie" (I am very pretty) embroidered on it. While we generally try not to overdo the diva mentality around here with our two drama queens, this seemed the appropriate time for a little bit of French. 

 And doesn't she look like she knows exactly what that shirt says with this pose? Hand under the chin and everything.

 She was all about the cake. Not even a hint of hesitation before diving in...

All in all, such a sweet day celebrating with the people we love the most.

P.S. 

One regret…OK, I have two. I should have ordered Cetty's shirt in a smaller size due to the fact that we seem to produce shrimpy children. And we made the cutest playlist of songs for the party and then forgot to play it. But hey, if that's all I would change, I'd say the day was a success.
