Eight Months

It seems like so much has changed in the last month. She's still a baby, but we definitely don't have a little newborn anymore! I guess we better get ready for the ride, because I think it might be a wild one.

Recent Accomplishments:
+ Pulling herself up on everything
+ Learning about bumps and bruises in the process
+ Growing two cute little teeth
+ Climbing up stairs (not cool)
+ Braving the ocean and the pool
+ Meeting new people all the time and doing her best to win them over with the biggest smile you've ever seen

Blue Skies Ahead

And we're off...
We leave today for FL. A post-tax-season celebration trip. (high five to Bry for surviving his 4th tax season!) I can't wait to spend some real time together again and be with Bry's family, who will also be there.

We will happily go from fuzzy hat and sweaters

to straw fedora and bare feet!

Wild Thing

Before heading out for a walk the other day, I had to smile at Poppy's ensemble. Leopard face hat, her polar bear coat with the little ears on the hood, and furry calfskin booties. The animal theme is going strong over here.

Maybe it's time you went out and found YOUR inner animal. Heh heh. Growl.

April Showers Bring...

...little Poppy hands to the drip-dropped windows.

And guess what else is sprouting this spring?

Two brand new teeth!

This is How We Roll...

Homemade sushi 101 with my mom, Kait, and Mia. Though to be fair, my mom did most of the work...except for the last step, of course.

Assemble. (don't be intimidated by the super-sonic speed you see here)

Admire.

Roll.

Garnish.

Enjoy. (preferably with chopsticks)

Around the World for Dinner

It was our turn to host our potluck group from church, so we decided to have a little cultural experience for something different and told everyone to bring a dish that originated from another country. It was a lot of fun!
Thai satay with peanut sauce for the main course.
I wrote everyone's names in Thai at their place setting.
We sampled Spanish, Russian, Irish, French, and Indian food.
Poppy and I dressed up in our most ethnic garb for the occasion...complete with Poppy's Indian bangles.
